About this listen

A touch so intimate, a kiss so deep…

Egon Wolf is on a hockey scholarship but failing at everything else. Knowing he's going to lose his ride if he doesn't get his academic act together, he seeks out a tutor.

Rakesh Aahnu is a dual major and dangerous when bored. What he enjoys more than anything is the challenge of making straight men fall for him before walking away. Just because he can.

Both Egon and Rakesh are about to discover that life has a way of throwing you in the sin bin when you least expect it.

And when faced with an unfamiliar play? All you can do is shiver.

Shiver is an LGBT+ story intended for mature listeners.

Story of Egon and Rakesh

This is a college hockey romance, featuring Rakesh Aahnu and Egan Wolf and is the first interconnected standalone book of the Puck’s Sake Series. This is a reread for me, needed to reread before I jump into the rest of the series.

Egon is on a hockey scholarship, he is a great player but is failing in his classes and is currently dating a puck bunny, Rakesh is studying his graduate degree and is a tutor when absolutely necessary as a favour to his uncle, the hockey coach. Rakesh also has the hobby of seducing straight men.

It doesn’t take long into the tutoring for Rakesh to set his sights on Egon. The narration of both these characters is fantastic, the way Rakesh’s POV is delivered is so spot on with how I thought his manner could be.

Their relationship development is a roller coaster, but it ends with a gorgeous all-in HEA. The book is super spicy and, holy moly, the bonus scene was crazy spicy. I’m really looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I’m half tossing up whether to wait for the rest of the audiobooks or just jump in.

Tropes include:
Hockey player / Tutor
MM college romance
Bi awakening
Protective / Possessive
Praise / Good boy
Dom / Sub
Falls hard / all-in vibes
HEA

Did not enjoy

Rake is an absolutely unlikable character, he’s a user & stalker, as a result I found this book incredibly hard to finish. Did not like the narrator for Rake either.
