About this listen
The ongoing saga of a beautiful friendship!
For all we know, or think we know, about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, what we don't know is far, far greater. In one of the duo's most exciting cases, The Adventure of the Speckled Band, we know when Helen Stoner arrives "in a considerable state of excitement" at the door of 221B Baker Street, seeking the assistance of Holmes and Watson: "It was early in April in the year '83..." But what happened during the rest of 1883? Or all of 1884?
To help fill the void, we have asked today's top Sherlockian writers to rummage through their Watsonian correspondence and uncover the many mysteries left untold until now.
There's a new story for every month of the year, forewords from noted Holmesians, and a gorgeous cover from Jeffrey McKeever, whose work continues to grace the pages of The Strand Magazine!

Loved this series
Loved this series of stories. For the most part they fit well with the Holmes cannon tales and it’s really only two that standout as not slotting in as neatly. One for the never ending addition of “authors notes” or little additional fourth wall breaking footnote add ins that are probably supposed to add further context to the story or explain different words but actually just frustrated me to the point of simply skipping the whole story. The other story simply broke the unspoken rule of referring to Holmes as Holmes and instead insisted on having Watson refer to him as Sherlock throughout the whole narrative which while a small misstep is still a Holmes faux par and does make me roll my eyes every time I hear or read S Holmes referred to by either Narrator Watson or Speaking Watson as Sherlock
Other stories are brilliant. Wish there were more anthologies like this one around and on audible
