Publisher's Summary

How well would you fare if the apocalypse fell upon you? Could you survive more than a few days? Would you be able to feed yourself? Find clean water? Safe shelter? Heal your wounds?

Allistor is a gamer geek who has spent most of his life indoors, playing virtual reality MMORPGS and reading classic LitRPG books. But when Earth is seized by an ancient race wielding incredibly advanced tech, who transport the entire planet to a new location with twin suns, he finds himself fighting to survive in real life. The human race is declared a contaminant, and the new overlords decree that 90 percent of us will be exterminated. Creatures out of myth and legend are sent to do the killing. Dragons, titans, alien creatures, big and small, all with a hunger for human flesh. Humans who survive the first year will be rewarded.

After seeing his family killed in the first week, Allistor leads a small group of survivors in their struggle to stay alive. Not satisfied with simple survival, he strives to make himself and his people stronger. The new "magic" RPG system that now governs the planet is something he can work with, and teach others to exploit. Thrust into a leadership position, and with vengeance in his heart, Allistor aims to establish a stronghold, then take the fight to the monsters who seek to enslave his people.

Very well done!!

The story line had great detection and left lost of room for characters, storyline and game development. The war music was abit loud at some points but over all the performances was still 5 stars.

No X Factor.

Despite its efforts the book didnt make me want to hear the mcs story . A big minus for me was the gods and the system. there are no constraints and these bs rewards for being 'first' is just dumb. It feels as though the author can write thier way out of anything. They didnt bother to explain elements like adaptiveness and if it was so important why wouldnt evenyone just put points into it . Everything seems unrealistic and the 90% of people being killed so im the smartest thing is such a cop out. They even try to galvanize you by killing his family, yet in the next sentance they are playing out his wish fulfillment fantasys.

It seems as though alot of ideas are ripped wholesale from other litrpgs without much thought being put into making a cohesive story.
The sound design was meh as it didnt really add to the experience, but i believe thats the fault of the story rather than the sound design bring the audiobook down.

While there is alot more I could write it would proberbly result in my score being lower aswell so ill leave it there.

An ok listen

Life in the north is a far better series. This one is quite childish. I really dislike the background music when ever there is a fight.

What bugged me the most was every time he would find someone new he would have to explain the interface with them. As if they would not have explored this themselves. Oh wow I have a new holo graphic window in front of my face. I’ll just completely ignore that until some kid comes and explains it to me.

simp book for simps

good concept for a story but the writer clearly has an older woman fetish. If I hear 'they chivolorously helped "THE LADIES" again I might vomit.
The characters are pretty monotone.
