About this listen

Our wounds are still fresh, but I refuse to give up. Declan Black messed with the wrong shifter and I won't stop until I've made him pay for what he's done.

Having the help of the witch coven we searched for brings choices I wasn't ready to make, but as I say goodbye to one family member and welcome back another, I use the rage consuming me as fuel to continue moving forward in search for retribution.

As a battle nears, my heart and head continue to fight over what to do about my responsibilities to the pack and my mate bond with Liam. He's a risk I'm not sure I'm willing to take, but I'll need to decide soon before the choice is made for me.

Though, when the dust settles, and the consequences of my decisions become known, I may just reach my breaking point.

Brace Yourself For An Emotional Ride

Well holy dang shifter babies I thought the last book was emotional but yeah this one totally just hit that out the park. I'm not a big crier in life but I was definitely internally ugly crying for sure. Seriously it felt like so much went down in this book and my emotions were legit all over the place. Heather really turned up the emotional heat with this one but it was incredible. I'll just walk through the fire coz its totally worth it.

If you loved the first instalment there's absolutely no reason why you won't love this one! The story keeps up a good pace and I continued to love how everything unfolded. The plot is easy to follow but not to the point you think its too easy...honestly nothing about this storyline feels this way when your reading it. It picks up right off from where book one finishes and gets right into it which is fantastic since book one stops with a fairly decent size cliffhanger. Honestly though it doesn't come quite as close as to how book two finishes. I wasn't emotionally prepared for what happened and it kinda felt a little like a kick to the gut

I really hope Declan Black will pay - oh how he must pay.

On to more happier notes...ohmygosh eeek Liam and Taya are soooo adorable. I just love their relationship and how it has grown. He's still as protective as ever and a wee bit possessive but well I find it adorable. Taya is so cheeky though with how she is always messing with him and trying to push his buttons to get a reaction. Its just too amusing. Here is one of my favourite scenes.

“We needed privacy. They didn’t look like the type to give it to us. Turns out I was right.”
Laughter once again took over my body. She was good. The next time I turned back toward the window, Liam’s face was fully visible in the glass, and he was glaring daggers at me.
I strode over to the window and pushed it open. “Hey there, Romeo.”
“Not funny, Taya. We couldn’t hear anything. We had no idea if you were alright. What did you think “we would do?”
“Well, considering I had no clue you’d been blocked from the room, I’m at a disadvantage. Had I known, I would have placed bets on who would come first and how long it would take you to come up with a plan and execute it. That was a missed opportunity.”
“Move,” he grunted.
I slid back, watching as his muscles pulled taut and he climbed through the window. Totally worth it.
“It’s not funny. You can wipe that smirk off your face now.”
He was being a party pooper. Grouchy old man."

There's just way too many amusing moments between these two and their friends. I've come to the simple conclusion that if Taya is involved there's never a dull moment. Seems like someone agreed with me too lol.

“I glanced back at Rick. “Glad you came with us?”
“Never a dull moment when you’re around,” he replied with a small smile."

There's just so much to love about this book and I can't wait til I can get my hands on Shades Of Deceit. Too bad I rushed through Shades Of Magic in like 6hrs so now I gotto wait a month or so until the next audiobook is released. Funnily enough though I had this super weird dream last night
of someone hiding the audiobooks from me so I couldn’t listen to Shades of Deceit and then were teasing me about it when they gave it to me...I then threw a pillow at them in frustration for keeping it from me. Like I said sooo weird 😂 I may be more like Taya then I realised haha. You're totally welcome for being brought in on my odd dream lol.

Anywho I'll leave it at that lol.

Thanks Heather for another amazing read!
