Publisher's Summary
Ruby Scott is months behind on rent and can't seem to land a steady job. She has one chance to turn things around with a big audition. But instead of getting her big break, she gets sick as a dog and completely bombs it in the most humiliating fashion. All thanks to a mysterious, gorgeous guy who kissed - and then coughed on - her at a party the night before.
Luckily, her best friend might have found the perfect opportunity: a job staying at the lavish penthouse apartment of hotel magnate Bancroft Mills while he's out of town, taking care of his exotic pets. But when the newly evicted Ruby arrives to meet her new employer, it turns out Bane is the same guy who got her sick. Seeing his role in Ruby's dilemma, Bane offers her a permanent job as his live-in pet sitter until she can get back on her feet.
Filled with hilariously awkward encounters and enough sexual tension to heat a New York City block, Shacking Up, from NYT and USA Today best-selling author Helena Hunting, is sure to keep you laughing and swooning all night long.

Shacking Up Nice
The characters, Ruby and Bancroft, were real, quirky but glamorous. The crisis to be resolved wasn’t evil or overly contrived, but understandable and resolved in a timely manner. I’m sick of romance books that go on and on for a third of the book about some ridiculous or unpleasant conflict. I want the emerging romance, with some reasonable ups and downs, and an HEA. This book delivered.

Meh
Slow burn story, quite repetitive dialogue. Pushed through it, liked it by the end but not a favourite of hers.

Couldn’t finish it…
Can’t stand the main character Ruby - she is just pathetic. Can’t manage money, can’t even manage to be tidy. One dimension characters and cringey plot.

Shacking Up
Where do I start without offending anyone, I love all of Helena Hunting books and I own them all as ebooks and audiobooks. The storyline was good, really enjoyable when I read it but I didn't enjoy the audiobook. I really can`t be the only person that finds that Jacob Morgan lacks emotion while narrating! It`s like he`s just reading off a sheet without any passion or emotion. It`s not the first book that I`ve felt this way about that he`s narrator. In saying that I really do love his voice, I just wish he would play the part more than just read the words. Rose Dioro did a good job, but it does take a few chapters to get use to her being the character.
But hey, if I`m the only one that feels this way I hope you all enjoy it.
