About this listen
"I was 22 years old, a hard-on with a pulse: wretched vice-ridden, too much to burn and not enough minutes in a hour to do so. 1995 was a full 365-day year of drinking, fucking, lying, raging and exploration for me - not a dull one in the bunch. It was a time of self-shit: self-importance, self-absorption, self-indulgence and selfishness. I was the only person in the known galaxy and I wanted what the fuck I wanted sooner rather than later."
The action begins in West Des Moines, Iowa, where Corey Taylor, frontman of Slipknot and Stone Sour, systematically set about committing each of the Seven Deadly Sins. He has picked fights with douche bags openly brandishing guns. He has set himself on fire at parties and woken up in dumpsters after cocaine binges. He lost his virginity at eleven. He got rich and famous and immersed himself in booze, women, and chaos until one day he realised, suddenly, that he didn't need any of that at all.
Candid. Literate. Brilliant. Seven Deadly Sins is a brutally honest look at 'a life that could have gone horribly wrong at any turn', and the soul-searching and self-discovery it took to set it right.

Not what i was looking for.

awesome
Narrator is bloody awesome. without Corey narrating the book it wouldn't be the same. you can actually feel what he is narrating.

Absolutely amazing take on the 7 deadly sins! A true artist
Amazing look into one of my all time favourite artists life and mind. A true genius who has an amazing way with words. I’ll definitely be reading this again, I even bought the physical copy like I do with books I greatly enjoy

Brilliant
Highly recommend listening to it. I’ve walked away being a massive Corey Taylor fan. I wasn’t a fan of slipknot either. And I’ve walked away being a slipknot fan now as well.

Corey Taylor seven deadly sins is a great read
I have read this book a bunch of times and love ever bit off it. and hearing Corey Taylor read his own work makes it so much more fun and entertaining. Will return to this book many more times both audio and normal reading

Entertaining
I gave the story 4 stars as I found the story was very preachery and ranty. I actually bought this book about 2-3 years ago and couldn't read past the first couple of chapters because I found this really irritating despite the fact I share his views. If you have ever watched the Henry Rollins show, the little rant he does at the end of each show is pretty much how this book is but with Corey's life woven throughout (so called) 7 deadly sins.
I got the audio version solely because The Big Mouth himself narrated it - and only after I listened to the sample. I'm so glad I did. He tells is story in a very original and clever way. I loved the way he narrated it, everything that irritated me in the print version came across funny and entertaining the way he tells it. Not sure if he did it intentionally or not, but he's dropped a few song lyrics into the text (or could be he always drops phrases like manchurian candidate in his conversations?) anyway it made me lol to myself when I recognised some of the phrases.
In the end, even though I still mildly resent the preachy rants, I found the book inspiring and fckuing hilarious!

Worth A Listen - Particularly Corey Taylor Fans
Overall this is pretty enjoyable, Taylor makes some great arguments which are very hard to disagree with. Problem is Taylor can come across extremely arrogant and impacts the points being made. The start of the last chapter is woeful

A great listen
This is a great listen, it will make you laugh and have a good look at your self and the world we live in without being in your face and preachy.
Well done Mr. Taylor
