About this listen
Few bands are as shrouded in the murky haze of rock mythology as The Doors, and parsing fact from fiction has been a virtually impossible task. But now, after fifty years, The Doors' notoriously quiet guitarist is finally breaking his silence to set the record straight.
Through a series of vignettes, Robby takes listeners back to where it all happened: the pawn shop where he bought his first guitar; the jail cell he was tossed into after a teenage drug bust; his parents' living room where his first songwriting sessions with Jim Morrison took place; and the many concert venues that erupted into historic riots. Both a time capsule of the 1960s counterculture and a moving reflection on what it means to find oneself as a musician, Set the Night on Fire is a must-hear for Doors fans and an essential volume of American pop.

Hear it from the horse’s mouth
Robbie is very honest and gives what seems to be an accurate account of his life and time with the Doors. For true fans, I highly recommend this book. Even for non-fans, it’s provides first hand commentary on the impact of rock music on the 60s, 70s and to present times. I walked away from this with even more respect and admiration for Robby.

Enjoyable Listen
Pretty good, narrator was spot on, tells the story with "life" in his reading...doesn't just READ it. Robby definitely has a lot to say. It’s good to hear his Doors story. I liked the way the book was structured, not a story from "A to B". No lingering "when i was a child".... Just a lot of stories told sorta randomly & straight to the point, was good. According to Robby, Jim’s life story has a lot of “myth” attached to it rather than what actually happened LOL…. I enjoyed…
Long live The Doors :)
FYI - The Doors WERE invited to Woodstock.... Ray Said That concert wouldn't be a big deal so don't bother.... LMAO
