About this listen
From the author of These Toxic Things and Audible Original How It Ends comes a gripping short thriller about a young woman whose dreamy “glamping” weekend becomes her worst nightmare.
Still mourning the death of her own fiancée, Lauren Hudson must put on a brave face for her family as they gather in Zion National Park for her brother’s wedding. He’s co-founded a “glamping” (glamorous camping) start-up with Sadie, the soon-to-be bride whom the rest of the Hudsons have yet to meet, and they’re hosting their small destination wedding for their nearest and dearest right on their own campgrounds. But not long after Lauren arrives on the scenic property, doubts creep in about Sadie - could she be harboring a sinister secret? Or is the trauma of Lauren’s own past clouding her judgment? With the wedding looming ever closer, can Lauren discover and expose the truth before it’s too late?

Totally predictable
Obvious storyline. Could tell what was going to happen all the way through. Not enjoyable

The best part of story was that it was short
The author is inexperienced regarding writing people arguing. The plot was interesting but it was ruined by the choice of narrator who did not have weight or depth in her voice

Couldn’t finish this…
The lead character was too melodramatic & self-obsessed for me to endure. Backed by a story that never got momentum, I couldn’t finish this… no wonder it’s a freebie.

boring
couldn't finish it. far too difficult to follow an already uninteresting storyline when the narrator barely changes her voice between characters.

Awful
Fast forwarded through each chapter - the end is predictable. So slow and boring it just never really
Peaked.

Gripping and atmospheric
What an exceptional novella! I don’t usually listen to thrillers on audio but Rachel is one of my favorite authors, so I made sure to snap this up. And I’m so glad I did. Set on a rural glamping site in Utah, the main character has to navigate unsettling occurrences and creepy strangers as she and their friends await her brother’s wedding day…only to become the last one standing to watch him say “I do” to a woman who appears to be more than she seems.

Terrific company waiting for the power to return.
A good little crime novella. While in a blackout, perfect to pass my time.
