About this listen

When the past forms the future, how does a woman with few memories survive?

No longer nameless or alone, Tate has put down roots in the city of Aurelia. She's found a home, friends, and a misfit family. When an assassination attempt leads to a dangerous loss of control over her dragon, Tate is sent to the farthest reaches of the empire on a mission she can't refuse.

It isn't long before Tate stumbles into her usual brand of trouble. Kidnapped and separated from her closest allies, Tate will have to find a way to survive old enemies and new acquaintances.

Piecing together the tattered remnants of her past might be the only thing separating her from death. Enemies long thought dead are returning and they won't be satisfied until they have Tate's head.

Good addition

I do love this series. In fact, I enjoy the author's writing in all her series.
However, the narrator is getting really tiresome - she has some mannerisms that show up in every book and every series with no variations. Obviously, this isn't an issue if you listen to this series alone but it's quite annoying if you're a fan of T.A. White across the board.
I might have to switch back to reading her future books... Or hope for change in narrator.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for story but I had to deduct overall because of the irritating narration style - personal opinion, others might really love it 🤷

4 star listen

ok finally i feel like things are on the move in this series.
leaps and bounds are made in this one in all aspects of the series.

romance wise FINALLY
we also hear more about Tates past thank the lord from a past lover.
so many characters are in this series whom i dont know what side they are on.

The world building aspect is intense and its like a blink and you miss a massive chuck that you need to know. I had to go back and listen to certain things two or three times.

im a massive fan of ta white, this is a good series but not on par with firebird or even aileen travers.
Maybe on par with the pathfinder?
anyway 4 star listen, big fan of lilith, she makes me laugh. Id like to hear more from the emperor, i am intrigued about his character.
