About this listen
Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night…will keep a PsyCop from his duty. Because ghosts don’t take snow days.
Seasons: PsyCop Briefs, Volume 2 contains four novelettes and 14 short stories. This all-new novel-length collection begins right where book 12, Other Half, left off, with Vic and Jacob’s honeymoon. It then cycles through each season, highlighting various moments in the series with laughs, scares, tender domestic scenes, and of course, ghosts - then circles around to Other Half again.
Stories include:
- Summer - Last Resort, Potato Potahto, To the Letter, The Perfect Storm, The Grass Is Always Greener
- Fall - On the Ball, Treat Me Right, Sticker Shock, One Bad Apple
- Winter - Roadside Resistance, Don’t Sweat It, Cold Case, Can’t Take It with You, Holiday Cheer
- Spring - Dead Zone, Honey Do, Impostor Syndrome, Tie the Knot

More must-have stories for PsyCops fans!
Medium Victor Bayne is back in a series of short stories which capture his glass-half-empty attitude perfectly! Some are lovely glimpses of life between Vic and Jacob, with Vic always slightly unsure and Jacob his calm, faithful rock. Others are funny messes that only Vic can find himself in, while others are more involved spectral stories with a few chapters each. These stories slot in between the now 13 novels and as well as being amusing or touching, they give a feel for Vic’s development as a character and as a medium. I wouldn’t read these until I’d finished the first 12 novels to avoid the occasional spoiler or two but I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone who loves the series. I really hope JCP keeps writing and releasing these, it’s like visiting and reminiscing with dear old friends. I wonder if it’s cathartic for JCP to include so many of life’s petty grievances in Vic’s stories, the overly perky interviewer, the sniggering police recruit, the barista who only has eyes for Jacob - his discomfort is so entertaining! Audio narrator Gomez Pugh IS Vic, I just can’t imagine another voice capturing the grumpiness so well, he’s perfect!
