Publisher's Summary

The highly anticipated sequel to Under Different Stars, winner of four 2014 utopYA Awards.

Eighteen-year-old Kricket Hollowell was looking for her place in the world when she discovered that the universe was bigger - and more dangerous - than she had ever dreamed. Now, whisked across space to the planet Ethar, Kricket learns that her genetic ability to see the future makes her a sought-after commodity...and the catalyst for war between her star-crossed parents' clans. According to Alameedan prophecy, one house will rise to power, and the other will be completely wiped out, and Kricket's precognition is believed to be the weapon that will tip the scales.

A target of both the Rafe and the Alameeda houses, Kricket finds protection - and a home - in the arms of Trey, her Etharian bodyguard-turned-boyfriend. But her visions of what's to come disturb her deeply, especially since she must discover whether the gift of foresight will allow her to rewrite the future or if her fate is as immovable as the stars.

Beautiful Narration to a decent story- worth it

Kate Rudd has a lovely voice and does a wonderful job of creating of characters, both Male and Female and by the time you reach the second part of this series, it is easy to recognise who is talking simply by her character voice without her identifying whom has spoken.
As I stated in my review of the first book, she has a beautiful tone as well that makes this easy to listen to.
As for the story, this is a good sequel to the first, the characters continue to develop well as does the story line, and although it is a little slow again in parts, its only because the Author is taking her time in developing a good story, and its worth sticking with it.
We still follow along with Kricket (I still can't get over that name?) as she is thrust into an alternate world were she goes from being an foster kid with very little hope, to being a Priestess with special powers who everyone wants, and who extremely large, gorgeous men are falling all over her trying to vie for her attention. Of course some of them are trying to kill her in the process as there is a civil war going on, and as its a YA novel, there is a bit of a 3 way love triangle in there as well.
Having said all of that - it is a lot better than what that sounds - there are very plausible reasons for everyone being larger in this world (not so much why they are all so attractive though?) One thing I really like about this Author is that she does actually explain things, as the series is going on (Im listening to part 3 now), and all the bits that you want answered, are slowly being answered as the series goes no.
Kricket is amusing as the lead - her commentary throughout the series is very clever as the strong willed street kid who has to grow into herself and find the strength to survive in this new environment. The support cast of Trey, Jax and Wayra are very good, Kyon as the the antagonist is so good you just want to kill him yourself, and there are several other great characters.
Personally (and I do stress this is for me!), I think Kate Rudds reading of this makes a huge difference in how much I liked this series, her voice and the way she does her characters is exquisite.
