Publisher's Summary
Audiobook 7 in the Dawn of Fire Series
Fleet Secundus marches toward the Eye of Terror, ready to strike at the heart of the Archenemy. However, a battle for survival awaits as the greater schemes of the Indomitus Crusade descend into treachery and intrigue.
LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE
It's a jaw-dropping entry in the Dawn of Fire series, as the Indomitus Crusade prepares to take the fight to the heart of Abaddon's warpsworn empire.
THE STORY
The mighty fleets of the Indomitus Crusade face terrors and dangers beyond imagining. As Guilliman's crusade marches forth, bringing the Emperor's light to thousands of worlds, Fleet Secundus is headed for the darkest dark – the Eye of Terror itself.
Along with warriors of the Adepta Sororitas and the Adeptus Astartes, the Imperial Navy battle cruiser Judgement of the Void pushes deeper into contested space. But as their journey unfolds, the forces of Chaos close in, and a battle for survival is about to begin – one which has ramifications not just for Fleet Secundus, but for the future of the galaxy itself.

Great stand alone horror tale
Loved the clear characters, motivations and use of the 40k universe. Explains what it needs to to create suspense while keeping the rest enigmatic.

Great depiction of the insidious nature of the warp
Bit of a slow start but it leaves you guessing as to who or what is the enemy.

Absolute classic
This is an instant classic in the best vein of 40k writing. I could write pages about it but the upshot is just go buy it! You won't regret it. Chris wraight is already one of the best 40k authors ever and this book just cements that by letting him have a go at something different.
The world his characters inhabit feels so real and the characters themselves avoid the 40k pitfall of being completely one dimensional. Just awesome.
The series on the other hand sucks. It's mostly boring, the pacing is off and it lacks a clear central story arc to hang the individual novels around. It can go whole novels without much mention of the broader story

A really good imperial navy yarn
A really good story focusing on naval ships - something we really see. The way the story unfolds is also captivating
