Beau Hopper is good at good-byes. A minor-league hockey player, he goes where the league tells him. Single and estranged from his family, Beau drifts without connections or commitments. He makes a living, not a life.
Former Marine Connor Casey's life revolves around his siblings. After Hurricane Harvey took their home and a car crash claimed their parents, Connor is determined to rebuild their house and their lives.
When Beau learns Connor might lose custody of his siblings if he can't finish the rebuild in time, he volunteers to help in exchange for a place to stay, and it isn't long before he finds himself in Connor's bed.
It takes more than passion and plywood to build a home, so when the league comes calling after Beau, Connor can't ask him to stay...but how can he ever let him go?

This sweet romance scores lots of goals!
Texan car mechanic and ex-marine, Connor Casey’s life was turned upsidedown when his mother and step-father died leaving him to raise his much younger brothers and sisters. With hurricane repairs needed and social services breathing down his neck, his life is hectic and overwhelming. Pro hockey player Beau Hopper has always drifted along, relying on his parents’ money rather than his own accomplishments. When Beau’s car needs repairs, he discovers a much more fulfilling life with Connor and the kids. I liked this small-town sports romance a lot, it was a clear case of two men who are much better together than on their own. The cute kids still mourning the loss of their parents were a large part of the story and each was a clearly distinct character. US voice artist Chris Chambers is a firm favourite, especially for audios which benefit from his sweet-and-smooth-as-honey southern twang. Even though this is the last book in the Men of Hidden Creek series, it’s the only one on audio and it works fine as a standalone (currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue).

Wow
I LOVED the skit at the end. Wonderful story of Beau and Connor meeting by Lady Gaga needing a mechanic, the love between them and kids and wonderful side characters make this one worth getting

Such a good story
I came across this in the Audible Plus catalogue and thought, why not! I’m so glad I did. Such a sweet story, bought tears to my eyes a few times and smiles to my lips as well.

Definitely worth five stars. A wonderful story full of love,laughs and more than a few tears but the feeling that after all the tragedies they have suffered that they have held together with a little help from Beau who helped Connor and the kids heal. Add in a few great side characters only added to the awesomeness! Finding this story hard to let go. Keep replaying parts.❤️

A lovely warmhearted easy read of a MM romance. Really good communication of characters and good character growth. A good read.
