Their world is one in which those who die in glory return as gods to live confined to a pantheon in Hallandren's capital city and where a power known as BioChromatic magic is based on an essence known as breath that can be collected only one unit at a time from individual people.
By using breath and drawing upon the colour in everyday objects, all manner of miracles and mischief can be accomplished. It will take considerable quantities of each to resolve all the challenges facing Vivenna and Siri, princesses of Idris; Susebron, the God King; Lightsong, reluctant god of bravery; and mysterious Vasher, the Warbreaker.

Loved the unraveling mystery
I loved the unraveling mystery and that it is not your standard hero story. It kept me guessing to the end and I enjoyed the new world.

I've found a new favourite author
Loving Brandon Sanderson's stories. So original, and riveting to read. Can't wait to read more of his books!

Conflicted.
I came so close to putting this down, so many times. The story is long & confusing. I didn’t connect with any of the characters.. UNTIL the last 30%. Then I was hooked, & invested & glad I didn’t stop. It makes a lot more sense. I just wish it had started earlier.

Instantly know I'll love this author
first book by this author and I am already hooked.
while the narrator was fantastic, there were unfortunately a few moments that her abilities were able to overcome the omniscient third person perspective shifts that came and went - a cast of narrators could have fixed that, or of course the author being consistent with their perspectives to empower a narrator but I'll give him a pass because the story was written for print not audiobooks

Spraling storyline
An amazing book that takes you on a journey that you feel apart of and It's easy to forget it's a story, as it was so well written. The Narrator did a brilliant job of bringing all the characters to life, absolutely loved it.

Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson is a captivating fantasy novel with a brilliantly crafted magic system. I loved how Sanderson unveils the mechanics of Breath and BioChromatic magic gradually, allowing the reader to piece things together naturally rather than through overwhelming exposition. The multiple character perspectives were refreshing, offering a well-rounded view of the world and its intricate societal dynamics. With engaging characters, political intrigue, and Sanderson’s signature worldbuilding, Warbreaker is an immersive and rewarding read.
