Ok

Despite the intriguing subject matter and interesting storyline, I am sad to say this book fell short of its potential to be so much more than what it was.

As the plot developed it was constantly undermined by monotonous repetition of Anna’s inner thoughts and the never-ending reminders of the story’s premise.

I pushed through this as the narration was excellent and I was captivated by the story and wanted to know how it would play out.

Interesting subplots were hinted at but never fully fleshed out. Those that weren’t left as loose ends were abruptly wrapped up in the last chapter and then the story was over. I felt like I was left with an empty waffle cone after only 2 licks of my gelato before it fell to the floor.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
