.........................
The perfect guy. The perfect date. Utterly disastrous timing.
There might be no such thing as the perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes - all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediately yes. That is until he opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. But there's nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong . . .
. . . unless he can admit he made a mistake. But after one incredible date - possibly the best in living history - Samantha is forced to admit the truth, that any kind of relationship would be impossible. Samantha begs Xavier to forget her. To remember their night together as a perfect moment, as crushing as that may be.
Only no amount of distance or time is nearly enough to forget that something between them. And the only thing better than one perfect memory is to make a life - and even a love - worth remembering

My heart ♥️
Honestly, Abby Jemenez can do no wrong!
Absolutely brilliant! I laughed and cried…hard!!! The only thing i hate is that i have to wait another year for the next one!!!
I also thought i wouldn’t love the Narration as it was our beloved Zackary Webber, but Matt did an incredible job. Both brought the story to life!!! I will be adding this book to my 6star reads!!!!

Beautiful story with perfect narration
I love Christine Lakin, she is one of my favourite female narrators. Jacob Morgan/Zachery Webber is my fave male, but after this book Matt Lanter just gave Jacob/Zach a run for his money in this book. Matt Lanter, if you’re reading this, you need to do more romance narration.
As for this book. I loved it so much, I immediately went back to listen to it a second time. Such a heartwarming story filled with love, laughter, joy, sadness, all the emotions. Will probably listen for a third time, as I’m sad it’s finished.
Abbey, I hope your future books are based on Geneva and then Tristan finding love, so we get to also see Xavier and Samantha have the family and happily ever after they deserve. xxx

This must be what love at first sight is. Sam & Xavier have quite the first encounter that leads to the most disastrous best first date ever. That seems to be the theme for these two going forward as they battle being helplessly in love whilst there are so many trials and heartbreak that really test them. This is a heartbreakingly beautiful and confronting look into what living with a family member who suffers from Alzheimer’s could be like. The writing style is very clever, humorous, and also entirely emotionally devastating. I couldn’t put it down.
Tropes:
Very meet cute encounter
Veterinarian business owner
Social media influencer
Alzheimer’s rep
Animal rescue
Mentions of animal abuse
Long distance relationship

Beautiful
4.5 stars
What to even say?! I think my eyes are a little swollen from having tears leak out of them.
This book to me toed the line of romance, it was definitely there, but there was much more at play too. It’s about a family is crisis. The hard topic of Alzheimer’s was done incredibly, but also so heartbreaking to read the impacts on their family.
Then you have Xavier who is deliciously grumpy and relatable with his dislike of people haha I loved him and I grew to love him so much the book. He’s got a darker past and I just wanted to hug him.
Samantha is so funny and I felt for her so much. I seriously loved their banter and connection. It was pretty instant and just felt so right. Them dealing with long distance was brutal. I had to do long distance with my fiancé (now husband) and I felt every bit of the pain they went through.
There are some major twists that are making me cry even thinking about. It was a beautiful, touching book. I’m so glad I finished it with the audiobook because the narrators were absolutely perfect for their characters!
