About this listen
Here are all four novellas in Darcy Rose’s thrilling paranormal romance series.
Book 1: Eden
I’ve spent the last eight years bullied by my own pack for being half human. Now I’m eighteen and finally ready to leave this hell hole. When the clock strikes midnight I’ll be free—or so I thought. Because instead of finding freedom, I find myself mated to the alpha’s son.
Book 2: Mate
No one ever told me that finding your mate was such a pain. Eden is nothing like I expected, and everything I never knew I needed. The more I get to know her, the more conflicted I get. What if my parents were wrong about her? If she really is my mate, then I have not only failed her, I have failed myself and my entire pack.
Book 3: Bond
Apparently rejecting me was not enough heartache to put me through. All I’ve ever wanted was to have a peaceful life. Why can’t he just leave me alone and go back to his precious pack? He wants me to embrace the bond between us, but I’m not ready to forgive him for what he did, and part of me thinks I never will.
Book 4: Home
Just when I thought we had it all figured out, someone takes her from me. I have to get free. I have to find her and bring her home before it’s too late. Before my mate is lost forever.

Good story, great narration 👍
At one point I didn't know if I could go on with listening. But I did and I was relieved by how Paxton came through for Eden.
The uniqueness of this story, was the concept of every (short) book written from a different point of view. Usually, the point of view alternates every chapter or every few chapters. But by having a whole (short) book from one point of view, you could really get well acquainted with the main characters. I liked that 👍
The narration was excellent. Good, clear voices 👍
ok and now stop reading if you don't want any spoilers... 😉
The moment I really struggled with, was when he abducted his mate and locked her up. The sex scene then, was hard to listen to, because she didn't really consent to it at first. She gives in, but yeah... That situation was a bit dicey to me.
But like, I said, Paxton really came through for Eden at the end. He left his pack for her, there was no way she could have had a happy ending in that pack. All's well that ends well 😁

Good plot, poor execution
This novel has a solid plot that could’ve been so much better. The sex scenes in this novel ruin it, they go on and on and on and on that you have to skip through them. I feel like this could’ve been a lot better if the book was written for the plot rather than the plot just being written to hold the tedious sex scenes.

I really enjoyed this story.
A human/shifter orphan, an alphas son, a bigoted alpha, a small-minded pack, and an unexpected mate bond.
leads to a story of suffering, struggle, coming of age, enlightenment, survival, and an undeniable love..
The narration was spot on, and the story flowed nicely..
