About this listen

An unflinching and at times harrowing blend of social realism and unashamed pulp action reminiscent of those old NEL classics of the 1970s....

When violence erupts at a Cockney Upstarts gig, an anarchist punk ends up half-unconscious on the ground, waiting for a much older skinhead to finish him off for good. But then an unlikely ally comes to his aide - his attacker’s timid young girlfriend.

He later learns she has an ulterior motive for doing so - the man is keeping her a virtual prisoner and beating her on a regular basis, and she is desperate to escape his clutches. He helps her get away, but it soon becomes apparent what she suffered at the skinhead’s hands is only the tip of a very nasty iceberg. One involving corruption at high levels and a widespread institutional cover-up.

Then things get much, much worse for both of them....

Contains scenes of graphic violence, very strong language throughout, and deals with topics some listeners might find upsetting.
