About this listen
For Maddog, the killer who had Minneapolis in a grip of chilled terror, satisfaction came from the thrill of the contest. After each grisly murder he would leave behind one of the rules he had devised: Never kill anyone you know. Never have a motive. Never follow a discernible pattern. He was no textbook psychopath. But Lieutenant Lucas Davenport was no ordinary detective. To bring an end to Maddog's trail of death, he would have to play by his own rules.

Flawed hero
I loved and felt squeamish over we the hero. he is kinda like James Bond they way he is a woman player. but the book was compelling.

At last a great crime fiction novel
I drive a lot and so listen to crime fiction books on audible to keep me awake! This one was great and not for the faint hearted! Loved everything about it and will go looking for more from this author. Narrator was excellent too. Hope he does the other books. Highly recommended.

Slow burn, excellent crescendo
Slightly formulaic cop/superstar thriller. Grisly crimes - not for the faint hearted.
Neat ending - a little too neat for my liking, but an enjoyable read overall.
