Publisher's Summary
As a former con artist, I love a convoluted, mind-bending scheme as much as the next guy. But as a recently promoted MagiPol agent, I love it significantly less than that guy.
Especially when the life of a kidnapped teen hangs in the balance.
Between confusing orders and conflicting evidence, this whole investigation has me and my partner, Lienna, spinning in circles. Why is our boss keeping this case off the books? Why is our top suspect, the most notorious rogue in Vancouver, mired in contradictions? And why am I the only one who cares more about the victim than their own ulterior motives?
Everyone wants me to shut up and follow orders, but that's not my style. I'll do whatever it takes to save this kid - even if that means returning to my roguish roots.

Another great series in the guild codex world.
Kit is one of my favourite characters in all of the guild codex series's, he is such a crack up. As much as I like his chemistry with Lienna, I loved it more with Zak - The Ghost. When these two had scenes I was laughing so hard, I hope we get more time with these 2 in future books. This is my favourite in the series so far & cannot wait for more.

Decent, enjoyable with some weak spots.
In these spin off series it gets a bit boring rehashing past events. We've already done Zach/The Ghost being misconstrued as an evil kidnapper & then being revealed as actually saving these kids from bad home situations. Blah blah. The new material is good but I don't need to hear what every character thought about past events that were previously explored in detail. Still I'll keep listening as the bones are good & Kit is sweet.

Getting better
This series is getting better, the performance was better and the story is getting more exciting. Loved the cameos of characters that I know and love. I am actually now looking forward to the next book.
