About this listen

Joining us at Audible Studios are Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe, comedians and creators of the podcast Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe's Parenting Hell.

Both beginning their comedy careers in the So You Think You're Funny competition, Beckett and Widdicombe have been making us laugh on shows such as Live at the Apollo, TaskMaster and The Last Leg for over a decade. When Covid struck and the country entered lockdown, Widdicombe and Beckett were stuck at home and the reality of parenting young children without the escape of work hit hard. They decided to start a podcast, Lockdown Parenting Hell, which meant they could go upstairs, leave the children for a while, and moan about the difficulties of being a dad, which over 2 million people a month started listening to!

With the success of the podcast, Beckett and Widdicombe decided there was plenty they hadn’t covered that would make a great audiobook, where they share their insights on parenting, and the lessons they have learned so far…in a hilarious way. We chatted with them about birth stories, emotional moments, and the most surprising parent on their podcast.
