About this listen
With her previous best sellers, Dr. Brené Brown helped us realize that vulnerability is the birthplace for trust, belonging, joy, creativity, and love. Yet a willingness to be vulnerable means accepting that life will sometimes knock us down. Where do we find the strength to get back up? In her research for her breakthrough book Rising Strong, Brené discovered a key factor. "Without exception," she says, "the concept of spirituality emerged from the data as a critical component of overcoming struggle."
In Rising Strong as a Spiritual Practice, Brené offers an in-depth exploration of this critical and oft-misunderstood aspect of wholehearted living. Here she defines spirituality as something not reliant on religion, theology, or dogma - rather, it is a belief in our interconnectedness and in a loving force greater than ourselves. Whether you access the sacred through traditional worship, solitary meditation, communion with nature, or creative pursuits, one thing is clear: Rising strong after falling is a spiritual practice that brings a sense of perspective, meaning, and purpose to our lives.

Love!
Love Brene Brown. Live audio, she keeps you hooked and feeling like you are in the room with her. She has you laughing and pondering all at the same time. The messages of spirituality are on point and so simplistically effective. Highly recommend this book.

A wonderful experience
for some reason I expected this to be a reading of the book. It's not; it's so much better. I've got so many things bookmarked to use in the future.
totally recommend.
Also, I need to write my own shitty first draft.

Breath of fresh air
Brene is a breath of fresh air in the world where vulnerability is so frowned upon.
Her humility, grace and love for her work just shines throughout this whole piece.
Bless you Brene and peace be with you.

Should be required in schools and workplaces!
Firstly -- those listeners put off by 'spiritual' concepts, fear not. You will find zero issues here. A *very* broad vision of the spiritual is being referenced here.
This material is presented via the lecture + interview format. And while a good companion to the book Rising Strong, it's neither a sequel nor repetition of that content. Personally, I found this more accessible and applicable. It easily stands on its own and there are some fresh ideas not found in Rising Strong.
Brené is especially insightful, relatable and hilarious here and Tami Simon does her justice with some curly questions. Despite being a seasoned listener of this genre, I experienced several aha moments and one solid epiphany. In short, this is the sort of material that can change lives, families, organisations, schools and corporations. I'm already into my third listen.

Just what thus single mum needed right now
This gave me the tools to parent in the way I’ve been desiring and the hope that over time I will eventually get most things ‘right’

Our stories we tell ourselves may not be true
Human. Relatable. Research based. Humour. Truth.
All this.
Brené speaks about hard things in a soft way. Soft as in it lands softly. Not judgy, not blaming. Empathic. She’s been every centimetre in this journey and she’s not lecturing, she is sharing from her heart.
I’ve eschewed formal religion for 40 years. I got hooked into trippy spirituality for some of that time, which caused a distancing.
I now can rest easy in what feels true for me.
I too believe in people. I believe every one of us is doing the best we can. I believe we’ve stories which have profoundly shaped how we show up in the world.
And.
Brené does too.
More than this, her approach to unravelling these harmful stories and reframing is exceptionally doable.
So.
If in doubt have a listen. As you listen, be present to what’s happening in your body.
Highly recommend and I’m off to learn more about rising strong. Dassana
