About this listen
Betrayed by his guild... Left for dead...
He'll become stronger than they ever imagined.
Ever since Arwin was summoned as a child, all he has known is war. And now, to claim the demon queen's life and end the war, he has to sacrifice himself. But, as he deals the final blow, the Hero of Mankind is betrayed.
Caught in a magical explosion thought to end him, Arwin awakens a month later to find that everyone has already moved on. His [Hero] class has changed to a unique blacksmith Class called [The Living Forge] that is empowered by consuming magical items, but some of his old passive [Titles] remain, giving him the power to forge his new future exactly the way he wants to.
Arwin isn't going to settle for anything less than completely surpassing the powers he wielded as the Hero.
After all, you are what you eat—and Arwin’s diet just became legendary.

good concept not super engaging
Interesting concept. I usually enjoy crafting in books but this didn't manage to engage me. The crafting was shallow as were the characters. The narration was good but was all in one pace.

This was incredibly poorly written, don’t bother.
There were far too many contradictions in this book, looking for a peaceful life, kills without remorse without any regard for the sanctity of life. Someone kills my friend, why not go on a revenge killing spree. Is the town large or small, it seems large enough to house whole abandoned streets and a kingdoms worth of thieves but too small and inconsequential to even bother taxing the ruling lord. The hero and the demon queen each killed one another’s friends but neither of them seems to care about it that much but when some criminal kid called zeek dies they want to go back into old patterns of revenge and violence. The contradictions are not the only problems with this story either, the characters seem incapable of complex emotions, they seem to just do things and then be either happy or sad about it. There is no loneliness, longing, true hopes and aspirations or fear and frustration. The writer does kind of mention these sometimes but the reader is never moved or influenced by them. Also I had no emotional attachment to zeek WHATSOEVER. He just seemed like one more thief child who wanted to earn money and “had his head screwed on right”. I cannot express my dissatisfaction enough with this story. I literally listened to the whole thing just so I could write my most honest review and this is what I have to say, this story is not interesting, it is not special and it does not have anything that another book can’t do better. I am sorry for my harshly written review but as I said it is my honest assessment of the value of this story. For the writer, please go back to the drawing board, please make your world and your characters before you make a story and please please please incorporate genuine emotional complexity into your story. This story was written in a bubble, it only had 4 or 5 real characters but you can have genuine interactions between members of the party and others outside of it, what about a quirky grocer that the demon queen interacts with, maybe they hit on her because she’s purple or maybe they become friends or whatever. It doesn’t matter just put some personality in the story. Another problem was that time was suspended whenever the protagonist was making something, all you said was I heated the metal with soul flames and then hit it on the anvil then three days later I finished and then I go across the street and everyone is waiting for me ready to go adventuring and then repeat. It’s lazy, what were the other characters doing all that time, why didn’t you write about that as a time skip instead of just talking about striking metal and then during that time period my buddies did this. It’s lazy and uncreative. Honestly there is more to work on aswell but if you start with that you might do a lot better in future, I’m sorry but I cannot purchase your next book or any of your other writings. Please take this advice
