About this listen
Some people just knew how to go out in style. Tim had never been one of those guys.
Tim was always a planner. The plan was to get into college, graduate, and find a well-paying job.
That plan was coming together nicely until he saw a presentation to get paid to play The Etheric Coast. At his graduation ceremony.
After watching the company's employee recruitment video, Big Richie's words had a whole new meaning. He could spend his life going from a cubicle at work to a one-bedroom apartment and back again...or he could take a leap of faith by entering a virtual world of unlimited possibilities. And get paid.
Now he just has to figure out how to get the job of his dreams, help his parents financially, and catch the attention of the girl of his dreams.
It was time for him to catch his wave. Tim sure hoped it didn't kill him first.

it was ok, then the morality lessons started
decent book, premise of the contract and time dilation software was a bit shaky though... And then the morality preaching started. The interruptions of the morality flexes (such as don't drink and drive, rape is bad etc), despite being reasonable and agreeable in isolation, just resulted in the flow of the story being damaged. you could remove each section of morality and the book will become distinctively more enjoyable as a whole despite the classic LitRPG tropes.
I'm sorry that the narrator had to go through narrating that, considering how good of a job he did for the book.

a star find
I've tried books in this genre before, most are tediously technical at every turn, but there are some stars and this IS one....enjoyed every minute and have already got the next one.... IM amazed I'm spending the time to write this instead of getting into it.

Great storyline
I really enjoyed the characters and story line. I saw someone say something about to much morality but it was just normal and totally part of the story line.
Must of been a him thing.
Great story, written and read.
My favourite part is the varied critters and different fight scenes. Love the food appreciation too 😁

lots of fun
really enjoyed the world building, the characters, and questing aspects. Cool to see some area building as part of the longer story, and also the length of the story as well is a great change to shorter audiobooks in the genre. lighthearted but genuine, narration is enjoyable and voices bring other characters to life. I'm interested and excited to see how the story continues as they level up and face new challenges! when's audiobook 2 out!?

Thoroughly entertaining
I’ve been delving into the LITRPG genre of late and found this one entertaining enough to keep me interested while tooling around the house getting on with things. I like the fact that the language used seems real world colloquial. There’s a hint of wokeness I just ignore, but that’s a reflection of where we seem to be presently. I’ll seek more out, well done.

A Hidden Gold Rupee
This was an awesome listen, whilst starting similarly to other LitRPG’s, the authors quickly show how this is different! It truly reflects life, where everyone should be treated equally! The MC also makes some interesting job/class choices. I also enjoy all the references to gaming, literature, movies and tv, don’t which are probably missed by many. Tim (and all the other characters) are very believable. Will definitely be listening to more!

I’ll never look at NPC’s the same again.
Very clever twist using individual thought instead of scripted code. I like the story and the direction it’s taking.
Book two here I come.

Fantasy Ready Player One
This is an entertaining and thoroughly engaging fantasy novel. The concept is fantastic and the storyline remained interesting from start to finish. I did not want to put it down and it reminded me of how much I enjoyed listening to Ready Player One for the first time. Enjoy.

Author needs to pick an Audience
I'm up to book 3 and I'm going to keep going, but that's more on me and being a completionist than story quality.
I look through reviews for negative comments, so I'll highlight the issue I had with this book (as per title).
The author needs to decide which audience they want to attract, consistently introducing intimacy and killing/death, and then in then in the next paragraph or chapter it will be the MC giving life lessons as if talking to a 5-9 year old.
Drugs are bad mkay. Don't under appreciate your friends mkay, other people might rip you off, but we won't because it's the right thing to do mkay.
Death is hard to process mkay.
Author also chose a very hard strategy to complete where relationships are all but confirmed and there is little to no group tension, will be interesting to see if this changes.
I'm hoping the narration of values will decrease as the series progresses, but I'm sure I'll keep listening regardless mkay.
