Fall in love with the Taint boys 😉😍
I first read Carmen Jenner’s book Revelry - the first book in her rockstar Taint series - last year and listening to the audio was a “reread” for me. And I have to say I loved the storyline just as much as I did the first time around. Cooper is the lead singer of Taint and has had a rough time after his ex and mother of his child has left him, and he’s not coping well at all. Enter Ali, an employee of Taint’s record company who happens to walk in and captivate Coop. So much so that he demands she become his PA and join Taint on their world tour. What follows is a realistic portrayal of rock stars on tours - drugs, sex, groupies, fan girls, more sex, alcohol, concerts, threesomes, drunken antics, paparazzi and, yes, more sex 😉 It’s one of the most honest telling of rockstar life in a romance novel I have read - it doesn’t gloss over the shocking behind-the-scenes antics and male rockstar life appealing, because it definitely isn’t!!
As for the audio version of this book, I have to say the female narrator did not provide a great listening experience and her version of the male voices was grating. However, I enjoyed the male narrator’s voice (reminded me a lot of an Aussie soapie actor!) and that’s what kept me listening.
Overall, the story is INCREDIBLE and the audio narration is ok. I definitely plan on doing an actual reread of this book ASAP as Carmen has recently announced the next book in the series and I can’t wait!!
