Great Book
Clarified many issues which were on my mind. The mix of finance and living a full life gave me some clarity.

Simple? I Don't Think So (but not author's fault)
There is no doubt that Whittaker is an expert in his field. Unfortunately, he still chose to attach his brand tagline '...Made Simple' to this book. There is nothing simple about the detailed content of this tome of a book. Yes, it does well to <simplify> what is otherwise a nightmare of rules, regulations, calculations, exceptions, counter-exceptions, specifics and generalities...but my overwhelming impression after listening is that the Australian taxation and welfare system is ridiculously complex.
My best takeaway is: don't attempt to manage retirement finance alone - get expert help! (At least this book will arm you to have semi-sensible conversations with said experts!)
The general/philosophical (aka 'fatherly') advice is offered tastefully and respectfully.
I suspect that this book will date in some of the legislated specifics - another reason to get up-to-date expert advice.
Finally, this book is squarely intended for over-60s Australians or those contemplating a 'traditional' retirement. Although there are some attempts to acknowledge a broader definition of 'retirement', it certainly doesn't cater for anyone from FIRE who sees 'RE' entirely differently. This is probably expected, but it was slightly disappointing for a (quote) "Everything You Need To Know" bible.
Excellent narration by Daniel Moore, despite it being a bit of a slog due to the large amount of ground covered.
