About this listen
Fortuna's entire life has changed.
She has no idea how to balance her new responsibilities and who she used to be. There are hundreds of faeries in her head, her brother seems to have lost touch with reality, and a werewolf won’t leave her side. Maybe the utter lack of control is why her abilities seem to be changing as well.
Then there’s Collith - enigmatic, beautiful, and infuriating. He’s not only a king of the faeries she despises so much, but he’s also her mate. And his gentle pursuit causes confusion in her normally unwavering relationship with Oliver.
As a result of it all, Fortuna now finds herself surrounded by new enemies, as well as ones from her past. The question isn’t whether she is strong enough to make change in such a corrupt court; it’s whether she will survive long enough to do it.

+18 DARK NA Fantasy, urban fantasy
This series is daaaarkkk and slowww!!! I'm curious about where the story goes, and I will probably read the rest of the series but the emotional damage is huge! It had me cryin and frustrated more then once. The vibes overall are just dark and I don't recommend reading this for anyone under the age of 18 and I don't recommend reading it without looking up CWs and TWs.
It is so far not feeling like a romance, despite there being 3 options, and 1 arranged marriage/marriage of convienience husband.
Narration: good.
Story: ouch.
- fae/fairies, fairy land, fairy king/queen
- calculative + resilient fem lead
- forced proximity
- magic, creatures

Better than the first
The second book was much better than the first, but I still had difficulty connecting with the characters due to the choice of narrator. The storyline is much darker than the first book and there are definitely triggers in the storyline that could affect sensitive readers. I loved the inclusion of the wolf into the storyline, it certainly made the book more interesting. Unfortunately, I’ve decided that I’m not going to continue with this series. It really just wasn’t for me.
