One of my favourite Lee Winter books
Thought this book was great, had me at the edge of my seat, if you like a bad girl with a twist book, this has it all. Exciting story line, danger, sex and a twist.

Finally, a story about lesbian criminals that’s not afraid to make them a bit problematic
I was initially pretty skeptical going into this one. In my experience a lot of stories about “criminal lesbians” really let me down by just going out of their way to have them actually not be terrible people (like there’s so many times where there’s this great premise but then the “hardened criminal” is just like… occasionally gruff and that’s it)
So I was pretty immediately hooked when Nat came on screen and was just lowkey incredibly problematic.
And I was initially pretty off Alison, she just felt like this generic “very nice wholesome girl” that usually puts me off. But then we get to see more of her character over the course of the book and it’s just excellent. There were many times I was just delighted with Alison in the story and it really helps bring everything together.

Brilliant and unexpected plot twists
I really enjoyed this book and I thought the narration was exceptional - in fact I think of all the audiobooks I’ve listened to this is my favourite narrator. Sensational story that I really enjoyed and will most likely listen to again.

Ok... time to amend the favorites list
I loved the story!
I think... all I was thinking during the show was killing eve meets Natasha Romanoff.. the story was so amazing, smooth, but also had the right amount of twistiness that just got me listening to the book on sittings..

Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant
Even if you have read the book, you need to listen to this audiobook. It lifts Requiem from the printed pages. It whirls around the images in your head, as your ears excitedly absorb her world. Congratulations to Anais Inara Chase for her thoughtfully, provocative, sensual narration. This is a wonderfully engaging novel. It blends a story of someone who loves the inherent beauty in classical music with the cruel world of assassins, existing in the criminal underbelly of Melbourne’s streets. It will leave you wanting more. And this audiobook grants your wish. It includes the follow up novella at the end, so you don’t have to buy it separately, as you did with the original novel. If this is your first foray into the works of Lee Winter, then you’re in for a treat. Her extremely well written, evocative prose will have you clamouring to read (or listen), to her other novels.

The Role of Assassins
A cat and mouse relationship develops between an assassin of Melbourne's crime underworld and the detective pulling the threads together. This is in a background of violins and cello as the bow is driving the romance and thrills. Can love overcome the training of the kill?
Lee Winter wraps the characters in a concerto of twists and turns so eloquently. The first in a law series I cant wait to delve into.

Just a classic of lesbian fiction!
What a beast of a book! Wonderfully narrated and I wish she'd do more lesbian titles. What can I say about Lee Winter?A multi dimensional writer whose writing has so much depth. In a way she is as terrifying as Requiem!

Music to my ears
Great storyline to keep me guessing. Loved the Aussie setting. Complex and likeable characters. Good sexual tension, good adult content. I don’t usually go for detective or police drama, but this was much more and I really enjoyed it.

Absolutely loved this book!!
I have to admit the Australian accent took a minute to get used to, it wasn't the best but also not the worst. but I'm an Aussie so it's hard not to notice over done out back accents. However the voice actor was great with all the different characters having their own quirks and such. The story itself was so well written, and in terms of a lesbian being the main character this book was amazing. it didn't focus solely on romance, it had a great story line, I wish all lesbian romances had as much thought put into them.
In terms of predictability I can usually call what will happen and I must say there were a couple of times where I blind sided by the path the story teller took me on.
I can not rate this book highly enough, purely based on the story line and how the narrator pulls you in, and keeps you engaged throughout the whole book. I look forward to listening to other audio books from the same author.
It was truely a pleasure.

Great plot
Loved the plot, the narrator did well, it just didn’t hold my attention. The jumping between times was difficult to track. Overall good storyline.
