About this listen
An Alpha Legion Novel
The leader of an Alpha Legion warband continues the Long War against the Imperium of Mankind, while harbouring the ambition to become the Harrowmaster and unite his Legion.
LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE
See the Alpha Legion in the wake of the Great Rift, as they face the power of the Primaris Space Marines of the Indomitus Crusade.
THE STORY
The Alpha Legion are devious beyond measure, but deceit is a double-edged sword. As the Indomitus Crusade pushes into the far reaches of the Ultima Segmentum, the warband known as the Serpent's Teeth encounter the fearsome Primaris Marines, and the Alpha Legion is faced with a choice – fade into the shadows, or adapt and strike back.
Solomon Akurra, leader of the Teeth, intends to claim the title of Harrowmaster and bind together the feuding heads of the hydra that make up his Legion. His allies are disparate and unproven, and his enemies march with the might of the Imperium at their back. Much is not as it seems, and the odds are stacked against the sons of Alpharius… but Solomon is armed with a weapon the Imperium cannot ignore – the truth.
Written by Mike Brooks. Read by Theo Solomon. Running time is 11 hours and 49 minutes (approx).

Great story, performance didn't land
Loved the story but performance didn't suit, voices weren't appropriate and some of thr pronunciations were weird. Don't let that stop you though, still a great listen.

Great story voice actor missed the mark
Great story if a little lazy (some characters are often way to surprised by pretty mundane or obvious things)
Good voice actor but not a good fit for astartes writing
If anything the acting is a bit to over emotional

Good Story but Average Performance
The story was relatively good and engaging, however, the voice actor’s performance left a lot to be desired.
His performance and voice acting was good, however, I don’t think he was the best actor for this story.
Alfa Legion always have plans within plans and stratagem within stratagem and layers of manipulation and secrecy. One would expect their voices would be as cunning and mysterious. Theo didn’t hit the mark on that one, unfortunately.

Good novel, marred by sibilant recording
Enjoyable Alpha Legion novel, as usual/expected match up against inquisition.
Would have rated 5 stars if not for the strong sibilance. tempted to rate overall as 1 considering the ever present sibilance, but that would not have been fair to the author.
This recording is sibilant, no it's not my audio gear, I've been trying it with multiple IEMs and speakers, EQ only reduced it but not able to remove.
Black Library should pay more attention to the product quality.

Almost perfect
A wonderful mix of intrigue, action, deception, betrayal and trust. I loved this story and seriously recommend anyone who thinks they know the alpha legion read it. It completely redefines what the legion is and how they operate post-indomitus crusade. Solomon and Hart are fantastic characters and the parallel story told between them is intriguing. The story slows down in parts to help bring context and depth to the Alpha Legion warbands, which I felt changed the pace of the story and was the weakest part of the book- a minuscule criticism, as the weakest part of the book was still an excellent insight into traitor legion psychology.
