recommended
a fun space opera that's got enough interesting elements in its reasonably familiar setting to make it stand out. the reader was very good as well.

Outstanding
Well at last a really complex, intelligent and compelling Science Fiction story. This first volume is a great introduction to this outstanding series. Fascinating world building, strong characters and a fast moving narrative. Wonderfully narrated too.
Joel’s Sasha series is also fabulous if you want a similarly compelling fantasy option.
