About this listen
Featuring Lieutenant Eve Dallas, Remember When blends present-day romance and futuristic suspense in a thrilling two-part novel that combines the incomparable talents of two #1 New York Times bestselling authors: Nora Roberts and her alter ego J. D. Robb.
Antiques dealer Laine Tavish is an ordinary woman living an ordinary life. At least, that's what everyone in the small town of Angel's Gap, Maryland, thinks. They have no idea that she used to be Elaine O'Hara, the daughter of a notorious con man...
Laine's past catches up with her when one of Big Jack's associates turns up in her shop with a cryptic warning and is then run down in the street. Now the next target of a ruthless killer, Laine teams up with sexy PI Max Gannon to find out who's chasing her, and why. The answer lies in a hidden fortune that will change not only Laine's life, but also the lives of future generations - including New York City detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas.
In a future where crime meets cutting-edge technology, Eve is used to traveling in the shadowy corners outside the law. She will attempt to track down the treasure Laine and Max sought once and for all - and stop the danger and death that has surrounded it for decades...

This story goes on too long
This book is in two parts and I was enjoying book one when it shifts gear and becomes book 2 along with a jump in the timeline
All of a sudden we are now in the mid 22st century and are dealing with the grandchildren of the original characters
I found the story became quite drawn out and eventually there are so many characters involved I subconsciously switched off and lost the plot altogether
Probably still a great story but it failed to keep me entertained so I have failed to listen to the last 3 hours

Great Book
fantastic, like all J.D.Robb/ Nora Roberts stories an "unput downable" book! I enjoyed the performance, though the "Irish" accent was more annoying that believable, all together a super presentation.

I have to listen at 1.3 speed.
2023 AUDIBLE REVIEW
I have started buying the audible books and have listened to the audio book version as well.
I’ve gotten more used to the narrator and basically listen to the story rather than her voice. It works most of the time but I have to listen at 1.3 speed or the story and the voices are aggravating.
HOT ROCKS
Loved listening to the audible version of this book. Laine and Max are perfect for each other and Laine’s love of her notorious father makes sense and shines.
BIG JACK
Really loved this in audible and Peabody’s wardrobe choices sounded funnier in audible.
I just thought the voice of Berenski was very badly narrated. He sounded like a teenager in this one, not the older and more annoying HEAD TECHNICIAN of the labs. Totally different from an earlier book.
Also, in this one, Trevor and Chad sound exactly the same and it was difficult to know which one was talking.
What a great two for one storyline. I do remember reading the Laine Tavish story many years ago. I am now rereading the IN DEATH series.

HOTS ROCKS by Nora Roberts
A diamond heist that has the adage THERE IS NO HONOUR AMONG THIEVES proves true in this tale.
Laine has made a respectable life for herself and no one knows she is the daughter of the famous conman Big Jack O’Hara.
Then her past and present get mixed together and she finds herself caught between a killer who will stop at nothing and a P.I. who thinks she is involved and is using her to get to her father.
I loved how this all played out, very entertaining,
BIG JACK by JD Robb
This story just follows on so seamlessly from the previous story, even though we are 50 years ahead and in the time of Eve Dallas.
In this engaging and entertaining story, we have Samantha, the granddaughter of Laine and Max from Hot Rocks. She has written a best-selling book about the diamond heist of 50 years ago. The killer believes she knows more than she has written.
50 years on and what remains of the missing diamonds becomes the focus of a very selfish and egotistical person.
When murder happens, it becomes the case of Lieutenant Eve Dallas, the one person who will not let a murdered succeed.
We have Peabody showing off her shiny new detectives’ badge as often as she can, plus some of our favourite characters doing their bit.
