About this listen
Who knew that digging for the truth could turn deadly so fast....
Ex-Special Forces operator Brian Ackerman lives for the danger his job at Iniquus provides. At least he did - until she walked into their briefing room. The woman who stole his heart and disappeared is now his new assignment. Protecting her will be easy. Convincing her she never should've left him in the first place will be much trickier....
Sophia Abadi never wanted to leave Brian. She had no choice. Anyone who gets too close to her is in grave danger, and she wasn't about to risk his safety. But now, she needs his help safeguarding Syrian conflict relics from the terrorists who kidnapped and murdered her colleagues. She can only hope she doesn’t get him killed in the process.
But they'll soon realize not everything is as straightforward as it seems - and Brian will be forced to discover just how far he's willing to go for a second chance at happily ever after with Sophia.

a book to puzzle out stay on your toes
Wow this book was one crazy ride. It took me on twists and turns that I did not see coming except for one, I did figure that out.
The added touch of the Paranormal seemed quite natural to be in this story because of the history that I know about lynx.
For me, the heroine was clever strong and very resilient and the way Fiona wrote her character, definitely put her in the box seat called suspicion.
I was a bit grumpy with Brian as he reminded me of another character that also appeared in this story as well as a previous novel. Steve almost shared the same fate as Brian.
Then, just when you think it's over Fiona puts another twist into the book and the hero steps in and his actions obviously make things right.
This is full of action, fast pace and suspense. Very, very little romance and no steam, but if you like a good crime mission mystery, and puzzling them out then this is for you.
Fiona has outdone herself with this book, it has international repercussions ba crazy surroundings in suburbia and red herrings galore.
James as the narrator did an awesome job.
