Oh Jack

I wondered about what Jacks story was in the last book. An unlikeness hero and a heroine that was nobody's doormat anymore. I rang enjoy the narrator she brings a lot of colour to the story.

5 stars

Loved it just as much if not more than the first book. I do think this book could have been longer as it ended abruptly with quite a few loose ends which disappointed me. Would have loved more of Jack and his son and them all as a family. But it did suck me in and the suspense made me feel like screaming out loud at the characters to share their secrets.

Enjoyable part of the Diable Delamere series

I really like the series, and enjoyed listening to Jack’s interesting story for the most part, other than the times I found my eyeballs rolling so far back in my head from Carys’s occasional obtuse rationale and the poor communication between her and Jack when it really needed to count. Frustrating. Nevertheless, i recommend this and the entire series (best listened to in order).

Characters

I was looking forward to the usual high quality of the author’s story lines but the irritating stubbornness of both major players was very wearing.
