Publisher's Summary

Sacred Valley has been saved...at least, what’s left of it.

With his home finally secure, Lindon delves deep into the ancient labyrinth, seeking long-lost Soulsmithing knowledge and the secret to destroying the Dreadgods. Monarchs plot against him and against each other, unaware of the threats gathering in realms beyond.

Far above Lindon and the Monarchs and the Dreadgods, another war is waged. Suriel and the Abidan clash against the Mad King and his forces in a battle for the fate of many worlds.

And if it is lost, Cradle will be destroyed.

The Scope Widens... And Narrows

This is an interesting book. In a first for the series, we follow two storylines - that of Lindon, as per usual, and another character who I won't name for fear of spoiling. Most of the book occurs down in Cradle, as per usual, but there's a chunk that occurs up in the bigger, wider universe as well. It's clear that Wight has a direction for this series, and never it more obvious than here. And that ending!! What a payoff!! The entire series is worth reading just for the last few chapters.

One of the best

While the pacing is a little odd, the climax brings it all together fantastically. I think Reaper contends with Blackflame and Ghostwater for 2nd best book in the series.

A must, must read.

The storyline has everything. Travis does an excellent performance and his characterisations are consistent and we'll crafted. I'm loving the whole series and always look forward to my next listening session. The bloopers at the end... Simply wonderful!
