Publisher's Summary

My dead best friend's daughter and the woman that haunts my dreams are one and the same.

For the last two years, I've told myself she’s off limits. That a man like me, can't be with a woman her age. Then my little maniac turned 18...and I gave in to my temptation. I shouldn't have, but now it's too late.

She's mine now, and I'll never let her go.

Then one of the biggest sinners in Vegas thought he could just take her. He's forgetting; it's my job to protect her. Mine.

Now, I'm going to burn this city to the ground. I'll reap havoc until my little maniac is back in my arms.

sooo disappointed

where do I start?
I must be weird, as everyone seems to have rave reviews about this book/author.
it's my 1st listen to these narrator's and to this author. I nearly didn't finish this.
I think the author chose the wrong hero (being the pres) for this story. he needed to have a hell of a lot more nouse than he does. firstly, I'm not an avid fan of age gaps as big as this one so that was my first stumbling block. 2ndly, It was recommended to read book 0.5 to get answers, this only cemented my 2nd stumbling block....reaper was soooo committed to his ward and in a blink of another person (namely female) his ward is written into the story as not nearly as important as what book 0.5 perceived him to be. ...that's too much of a fickle mindset for a prez of an MC.
then there's the I want her, I can't have her, I don't deserve her, I can't do that to the MC, to her.....geez, on and on, then his decision is made without the listener really knowing it....I don't know when or what made him decide????
the heroine is flipsy, flopsy as well, although you can put that down to her age.
then there is the prez and his rash actions when the actual action starts...no thinking, no processing anything..if not for the VP he would have had a different outcome.
its almost written as though he's sex struck and although I've read plenty like these before Ms Savage does not pull this off well. although on a different note I must say I smiled a time or 2 with the authors depiction of humour.
there are some tough, wrenching themes in this book as well as ruthless drama along with ruthless rules and men. but again the MC men turn pale, soft and yellow in the face of reaper, which would be acceptable if he was written with a bit more depth...book 0.5 had it but book 1 lost it.
now to narrator's....I didn't take to Logans inflections within his interpretation of Reaper...I've heard better that would suit the MC voice. and Sierra, her voice is good, but not her male voice.
one of the characters are depicted to have a southern drawl and that isn't constant with either of the narrator's....
all in all I'm so disappointed as I love series books and I was excited at learning all about the boys. but narrator's have turned me cold.
The lack of depth with character's stalls my listening, as well as their fickle natures.

sorry Ms Savage. but don't stop at the teaser, grab your plot and give it some deep grit.
I've noticed Joe arden, Thor Thom, Maxine Mitchell are narrator's in this series. they are kickass readers which makes me think of changing my mind.
a gut wrenching gritty MC read is Tillie Coles, Hades Hangman series..LORDY!!!
and T.M.Frazier, King Series
