Publisher's Summary
A slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance from Cara Bastone, an audio bestselling author, perfect for fans of Jo Watson, Lauren Layne and Hannah Orenstein.
A surprise pregnancy leads to even more life-changing revelations in this heartfelt, slow-burn friends-to-lovers romance of found family and unexpected love.
Eve Hatch has always been content to coast through her life, with a steady, if uninspiring, job and a cozy apartment in Brooklyn, close to her childhood best friend Willa and far from the traditional midwestern family who never really understood her.
But when she finds herself pregnant after an uncharacteristic one-night stand, her comfy life is suddenly up in the air. Eve's loyal friendship with Willa is feeling tense, right when she needs her the most, and it's actually Willa's steadfast big brother, Shep, who steps up with the most support and he's...suddenly kinda hot?
As if she needs one more complication, there's also the baby's father, who is technically supportive, but majorly conflicted. But as Eve struggles to figure out the next step in her expanding reality, she begins to realize that family and love, in all forms, can sneak up on you when you least expect it.

Excellent narration & sweet slow-burn love story
The narration on this audiobook was excellent and I'm so surprised to not find more narration by Alex Finke on audiable.
The story was a sweet slow-burn of love between Eve and Shep. I would have liked to see a little more of their connection build earlier in the book. The male characters were really likeable, especially Shep, to the point that I wonder if it was entirely plausible, given the extraordinary circumstances they were in.
There are some beautiful and challenging moments of friendship between Eve and Willa too - I'd love a follow up on what happens to Willa's story. I'm also desperately keen for some follow up about where Ethan ends up.
The end had me reaching for the tissues with happy sobs.

Sweet story with fabulous narration
Another sweet and funny love story by Cara Bastone. Alex Finke is THE BEST narrator I’ve come across. I thoroughly enjoyed the energy and humour she brought to the narration.

A++ Narration of a heartfelt story!
Loved every minute of this. As a mum, the ending hit me like a sledgehammer of emotions - in a good way!
So well written it had me reliving my birth experiences. It perfectly navigates all the raw emotions and brings so much realism to such a life changing moment.
Will recommend the book and will definitely listen again!
Alex Finke is the best narrator I have listened to in audible to far… just wow!
She perfectly captures the moment and the emotions and I’m off to go find more of her work!

Frustrating Narration, but a story not too bad
The narrator was one of the most overly exaggerated thing I’ve ever heard. Hard to want to keep listening with how overly pronounced every word is and hearing someone screeching or crying in my ear isn’t something I want while reading. Some may like it but I could not stand it and only finished reading for the slow burn and the fact I already wasted a credit on it. Story itself not bad, but the narration destroyed it for me
