slow paced, gets boring after a while

I listened to this as Austin Butler said he loves this book. downloaded it and literally still hours in and I couldn't understand what was going on...? the pace was so slow, no real character development as such and I think I've had enough.... plenty of other options to read, I'd give this a miss.
