About this listen

Returning for a second year at Akarnae Academy with her gifted friends, Alexandra Jennings steps back through a doorway into Medora, the fantasy world that is full of impossibilities.

Despite the magical wonder of Medora, Alex’s life remains threatened by Aven Dalmarta, the banished prince from the Lost City of Meya who is out for her blood.

To protect the Medorans from Aven’s quest to reclaim his birthright, Alex and her friends seek out the Meyarin city and what remains of its ancient race. Not sure who - or perhaps what - she is anymore, all Alex knows is that if she fails to keep Aven from reaching Meya, the lives of countless Medorans will be in danger. Can she protect them, or will all be lost?

sequels pre-ordered!

fun YA fiction elevated by a stellar narrator who differentiates the characters well. also - addresses logic gaps from first book eg. old-school subjects vs advance tech world.

Amazing

It was fantastic and I loved the plot, lots of exiting moments, I also love that Alex is a girl and is so strong, one of my favourite things is how I can relate to not wanting to cry when around others

Amazing Aussie Author

This series has taken hold of me. I’m moving into the third book in the series in just as many days. Honestly gripping storyline, and so well performed as well. Lynette is my favourite author of 2023.

Well performed

I loved the narrator of this book. The story itself was good but not amazing and I ALMOST didn't go on to read the next one but I'm so very glad I did!! I ended up binging the rest of the series and they just got better and better.
Worth pushing through this first book!!

12/10
Cannot recommend enough. Such a good YA series that is well written and plot twists don’t feel like last minute writing choices

BEST. BOOK. EVER.

It was just great. I spent all the time I could spend listening to this story. I recommend this story to all 9, 10, 11 year olds and up. It really pulled me in, and was performed so well. I would read this beautiful story over and over.
