Publisher's Summary
Do not touch the sword. Do not turn the key. Do not open the gate.
In the land of the unforgiving desert, there isn't much a girl wouldn't do for a glass of water.
Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen's reservoirs for as long as she can remember.
But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone.
When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real, and Saeris has landed herself right in the middle of a centuries-long conflict that might just get her killed.
The first of her kind to tread the frozen mountains of Yvelia in over a thousand years, Saeris mistakenly binds herself to Kingfisher, a handsome Fae warrior, who has secrets and nefarious agendas of his own. He will use her Alchemist's magic to protect his people, no matter what it costs him… or her.
Death has a name. It is Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate.
His past is murky. His attitude stinks. And he's the only way Saeris is going to make it home.
Be careful of the deals you make, dear child. The devil is in the details...

For fans of Lauren Roberts’ Powerless
I loved this. Anthony Palmini’s voice is a dream. If you liked Powerless by Lauren Roberts, you’ll like this. Similar vibe and story telling. Some people have criticised what they say is lack of world building, but I think it’s pretty spot on - too much world building and I just get bogged down and lost.

Kingfisher 🔥🔥🔥
Loved the audio version of this book just as much as the physical version. The narrators were so perfect, especially Kingfisher 🥵

READ IT!!!
This was one of my favourite romantasy books ever.
The dialogue was fantastic, and got better as you get further through the book. The first 60% of the book can feel a teeny bit slow to start, but it builds the characters and the world building up beautifully (without overdoing it) so that you can fully appreciate the second half in all it's glory. By far the best male character lead I've listened to. The performances were spot on.

Amazing narration that brings the characters to life
Normally I focus on the story but for this, I need to focus in the narration. Anthony palmini’s voice was the perfect blend in masculine and dream. I’m not always a big fan of a dual narration because it’s frustrating to hear a male trying to put in a female tone, but this book used the male and female narration as a blend throughout the book. The book’s perspective was from the fmc, so much of the book was from the female narrator who was amazing, however whenever a males character had a speaking line, the male narrator did the audio. I am now in the search for more of Anthony’s amazing voice! The story itself was really enjoyable and it held enough intrigue to keep it interesting throughout.

A fab romantasy
Fantastic dual narration - both female and male voices were excellent. Would highly recommend this audiobook.

Books like Quicksilver is why I love to read!
Quicksilver is a fantastic read that is easy to follow, to imagine and lose yourself in.
I have moved away from romantacy by books in the last few years, I am so happy I took the chance on this book.
I am only annoyed that I didn’t hold out for the next book to be ready so I could binge that too.

🙌 Dual Narration 🙌
Quicksilver was already brilliant on the page but the production, allowing Stella Bloom and Anthony Palmini to dual narrate, further brings Callie Hart’s characters and world to life.
