light, funny, absorbing
just what I needed, simple, entertaining, real with some gentle twists in the story to keep up the tension.

Loved it!!!
I think this has been my favourite Jane Fallon book. The story line was fabulous, the narrator did a great job and I was hanging on every word since the word go. Love Jane Fallon!

Great performance, Ho Hum story
It took me quite a few chapters to get into this book.
I found it difficult to reconcile the thought processes of Louise with that of a grown up. But after a while I became accustomed to it and managed to enjoy the story for what it was.
Pretty good narration in the book was good enough overall to pass the time.

Feel good rom-com /chick lit
I absolutely loved this book! I listened to it on audible and just devoured it! It is the perfect rom-com/chick lit.
Laura’s husband drops the bombshell that he wants a divorce and she finds herself needing a place to rent while she finds a property to buy. She rents an annex over a garage in an exclusive area “The Close” where the “one percenters” live.
Laura finds herself on the outer very soon when the leader of the pack, Stella, thinks she has designs on her fiancé Al. Laura, in trying to clear her name only finds herself delving deeper into a web of lies and deceit.
This book reminded me of the good old days watching Desperate Housewives, with a lot more plastic surgery thrown in for good measure. A feel good read 🥰

Loved!! Fall of twists and turns!
This book kept me wanting more! It was so easy to listen to, and I really liked the narrator's voice - it matched the down to earth tone of the main character.

Hmmmm
I have read a few of Jane's novels, they are a good bit of escapism with a revenge plot. Reading this one and like the last one I can't help thinking the author doesn't like women much and easily writes silly one dimensional women. Like the girls comics I read as a girl the bad ones get punished and the sensible ones always find a nice goofy guy who is mad about her. The sensible ones can air a sense of smug 'hardworking' with often a child who is also goofy and cute which can be irritating when they always have enough money for plenty of good wine (the woman not the child). But as a whole they are an easy read and hold your attention until the final plot is revealed.

Was ok
Really good narration, but a bit of a weak story. Struggled to like the characters.
