About this listen

Dr. Tom Halverson, specialist in the surgery of repair, has realized that in spite of having a prestigious profession and dreams of a bright, full future, his soul is dying within him. The politics and protocol of the prominent hospital where he works are a large part of this "necrosis" of his soul, but, as he is reminded when he takes his father to be buried "back home," returning to Montana is not the answer, either.

So when he receives an offer from a doctor in Mexico with whom Tom had become professionally acquainted, against the advice of everyone, Tom accepts at once. He flies south, hoping to set himself once again on the path to the kind of life he always intended. From the outset, he finds that professionally the opportunities are all he could have hoped for and more. But the woman was a complete surprise. Because of her, because of his friend, because of his circumstances, Tom finds that he is unwittingly being pulled into a high level but dark political intrigue as well as an impossible but passionate love affair.
