Publisher's Summary
The first standalone novel in The Pucked Series
With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So of course she isn't interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet's misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match. Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants.
Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And text. And email and send extravagant - and quirky - gifts. Suddenly he's too difficult to ignore and nearly impossible not to like. The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn't want to be part of the game.

Compelling, hilarious, laugh out loud masterpiece.
Do you love rom coms? Sporting romances?
At first, I was dubious since I love hockey and this was about a hockey romance but damn did Helena pull it off brilliantly.
We meet Violet, an independent and sassy woman. From the first page you fall in love with her, she's absolutely hilarious with all of her shenanigans.
Violet meets captain of her brother's hockey team, Alex. A man with a reputation, one he is happy to have for the sake of his career but one he wants to hide from Violet. He's completely enraptured by her.
He's never met anyone like her but...when you're a superstar hockey player, any kind of relationship is going to have its ups and downs.
Will Alex and Violet make it work?
Compelling, hilarious, laugh out loud masterpiece.

Wickedly Funny
I loved this story. It was the first book by Helena Hunting that I've ever read and it was brilliant. I loved the Violet and Alex and I loved the female narration of Violet. The only downside, when it was Alex's POV, I wish they had got the female narrator to voice her lines rather than the actor playing Alex, and visa versa. But overall, a great book and highly recommend.

Smutty and Funny
This was light, and funny, and oh so smutty. It was a perfect palette cleanser between larger and more serious books.
It was perfect for the mood I was in, and I finished it in one sitting. And really did enjoy it. The chemistry and banter were adorable, and I just loved them together.
Yes, Alex made his mistakes and took his time righting them, but violet wasn't perfect either.
Overall, it was a good, fun, light read, and I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Narrator: awful awful awful
Nathan Everett was possibly the worst choice for the character Alex. Just.... No no no no. What were the casters thinking???????

Great story
The male narrator didn't sound like he wanted to be there at all but thankfully the story was good enough to carry it still. Very interesting.

Laugh Out Loud Enjoyment
This story had me snort-laughing pretty much from the get go. I loved Violet and her inability to censor her thoughts no matter how inappropriate. The names she comes up with for the various body parts kept me in a perpetual state of giggles. As an alumni of UofG I particularly enjoyed her response to the name of Alex’ home town. I also appreciated that although she has her insecurities she is ultimately aware of her self worth.
Alex is everything you want in cocky cinnamon roll hero. A sweet, considerate, possessive, driven, dirty talker who also has his insecurities and doubts.
Ms Hunting has written a story with loads of humour, just the right amount of angst to keep the story moving and a good grovel with a very believable happy ending. I am definitely going to be downloading the next book in the series!
