I probably didn't connect as well to this last book, but it was good

If I could use one word to describe the third book in Aran's story, it would be 'descriptive'. At times, I found myself drifting with the detailed descriptions of the immediate area. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but at the end of a pretty big trilogy, it was noticeable.

I also felt that Aran's attitude became more grating, especially towards Malum. It did become clearer as the book went on, and I really enjoyed how it all played out, but it did impact my connection to her character.

All in all, it was a good series that went from a war academy setting to war and then the aftermath. As long as the book was, I almost felt like I wanted more of them after everything was sorted.

I read on Kindle and read along on Audible with good dual style audio.
