About this listen

There's nothing like being blackmailed by a dead man to really bring a group of cons together. The deal is simple, we do the jobs and Charlie's lawyer wipes the slate clean for each of us, one at a time.

Job number two lands right in my lap. I'm Bond. Wesley Bond. (I can't resist saying it that way. Blame my dad, if you can find him.) You could call me a hacker. I redistribute wealth - moving it from rich slimebags to poorer but infinitely more deserving people - and make a tidy profit as I do. My mission, should I choose to accept it, is to bring down some modern-day slave traders.

With the life of the one person in this world I love on the line, I can't afford any screw-ups or distractions. Unfortunately, my biggest distraction is my biggest asset - Danny Monroe. Danny is a leftover complication from our first job. He's a smart, funny, gorgeous ex-prostitute, who can't seem to keep his clothes on. I can't seem to keep my mouth shut around him. But I need a fake boyfriend, and Danny is the only option.

We don't know who the bad guy is; we have no idea how to prove anything. If I'm going to do this, I'm going to need all the help I can get. Like it or not, we're all in this together.

Contains mature themes.

I love Danny & Bond, Wesley Bond!!

The story continues and we’re treated to more from the adorable Danny and the socially awkward Wes. They played off each other in book one and were both, hot and cold as the story went on. Add in a new “case” from Charlie and the mysterious “Interested Party” and Wes and Danny are posing as boyfriends! Of course, not everything goes to plan and Danny and Wes can no longer fight their connection and give in to what they want, which quickly turns into much more than either of them expected. Now add in the thrill and danger of the case they’re on, the unfortunate inconvenience of coms being turned on at inopportune times and the whole team posing in unique situations and “uniforms” and you’ve got hilarity mixed with a little suspense and a whole lot of steam! I loved it and can’t wait to see more from this unique 5 now 7-some! I’m looking forward to seeing what Ridge has in store for him and his case, up next!!

loved the story, the narration was difficult

really enjoyed the story but I struggled with the narration. it seemed the narrators some times forgot which voice they were using for which character and it made the listen a bit difficult.

Thoroughly entertaining. Mystery, intrigue, touch of romance and humour. What more could you want. I’ll be looking out for more from this author.

Great next steps

Another good entry in this 6 story arc. Not quite up to the standard of book 1 but I am still invested enough to carry on to book 3. It was especially pleasing to see Wesley and Danny's story unfold and reach such a great conclusion, with the bad guy getting his comeuppance along the way.
I have listened to the first two books but will now move on to the print (well e-book) versions as there don't seem to be any more as audiobooks. Looking forward to seeing what the next case is going to be.
