About this listen

Once upon a time...

A baby is born in privilege, blooming under the warmth of his parents' love. Jealousy sprouts and brings with it malevolent intentions. A king and queen cursed with an empty kingdom. A child abandoned in revenge.

A misfit, the boy should turn hard and cold among the thorns he grows in. Despite lifelong attempts to destroy him, this child does not wither. Underneath his insecurity, he maintains a heart with the tenderest center. A heart that plays the most beautiful music.

Not far from this misfit but in a whole different world, a dashing prince lives with a crown of expectations adorning his golden head. A prince raised with honor and duty. A prince expected to marry.

Alas, during a simple walk in the forest, he is enchanted by a different song. And so a fairy tale is woven, two worlds colliding, secrets revealed, love everlasting...and a realization that not all fairy tales require a princess.

Contains mature themes.

Omigod

Damn, this story was a-freaking-mazing!

A modern day Fairytale. Sleeping Beauty with a twist, instead of being tricked into a sleeping spell the Villain kidnapped the child.

I absolutely fell in love with Ethan and Fletcher, opposites attract and an insta-lust/connection with these two and ohhh my they are just the sweetest.

Ethan is the most protective and possessive Alpha Male. He spoils Fletcher and gives him anything just to see him smile and enjoy life. Ethan is determined to show Fletcher that he is worthy of being loved and that he is perfect and beautiful just the way he is.

Fletcher is just the sweetest, he wears his heart in his sleeve and will give away clothes off his back just to help another person out even if he can’t afford to. His is like sunshine and has an air of innocence about him that you can’t help but love. After the way he grew up not knowing what it is to be loved and cherished it takes a few tries and a conscious effort not to run when he is scared and afraid.

I stayed all night just to finish, I was totally hooked. This is my first Cambria Herbert book but definitely will not be the last. I’m going to go back an read Ivory Snow very soon so I can get to know Ivory and Neo’s story.

I absolutely loved the audio for this book that I have already started listening for a second time.

Loved it!

Cambria Hebert is an incredible author. The depth and true-to-life portrayals of both Ethan and Fletcher’s personalities and their intense perceptions are beautifully descriptive. I loved this book and how realistic the characters and their experiences felt as I listened to the story. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
