Interesting story terrible performance

Its an interesting story but I don't think I have ever heard a worse English accent and I simply cannot get past that. It detracts so badly from the book itself that is the story of one of history's most fascinating characters that I almost cannot finish it as the verbose performance including over vigorously rolled rrrrrs is doing my head in. Its a shame as it seems like a fascinating book so I may have to go old school and buy it and read it for myself.
