About this listen

The police urgently need Harry Hole. A killer is stalking Oslo’s streets. Police officers are being slain at the scenes of crimes they once investigated, but failed to solve. The murders are brutal, the media reaction hysterical. But this time, Harry can’t help anyone.

For years, detective Harry Hole has been at the centre of every major criminal investigation in Oslo. His dedication to his job and his brilliant insights have saved the lives of countless people. But now, with those he loves most facing terrible danger, Harry can’t protect anyone. Least of all himself.

Outstanding

Another brilliant book by Jo Nesbo. These just keep getting better and better.

The narration was as excellent as always but one part of the story stood out from the rest. It has to be one of the most gripping pieces of narration I have heard, Well done Sean

I am saddened that there is only one left now in the series.

worthy

a complete performance, an edge of your seat account from a disturbed but lovable character.

Yes

You do. You do want to listen to this audio book, because this is the best Harry Hole yet. Relentless, jaw clenching, thrill of a ride - be warned though, nothing and no one is sacred. Don't miss it.

OMG!

In typical Jo Nesbo's fashion, this part of Harry Hole's life is as full of nail biting anticipation, misdirection and tension as ever. I can't forgive Jo Nesbo's for the death of one of my favourite characters, but the formalities in the ending came close to making up for it! Clever twists & turns, painfully human & totally addictive, this book is brilliant.

Better than the previous installment.

Nesbø uses some narrative sleights of hand in this one to deliver some of the twists and surprises, but he pulls it off and it works well.

Feels like Nesbo was rushing to meet a deadline with this one.

This book felt rushed or unedited maybe. The overall story was ok, but aspects of it were so implausible or nonsensical. Some characters offered nothing to the story, or were too obviously put in as distractions.

The plot line around Harry and his student irritated me so much! It just made no sense he would suddenly lust after her in the middle of searching a potential crime scene!
