About this listen
Maggie welcomes the three children into her home, and is touched by the gentle care Leo shows to the two little girls. It is clear that Lexie and Amelie adore their big brother, and rely on him for comfort and reassurance. But Leo has experienced the neglect and abuse of his mother and her partner for far longer than his sisters, and is struggling with an eating disorder and showing signs of OCD.
When Social Services begin to look at adoptive families for the children, Maggie is horrified when Social Services suggest that the two angelic little girls will have a much better chance of being adopted without their damaged older brother. Knowing the impact that losing his sisters forever will have on vulnerable Leo, they face the ultimate dilemma. Should the children stay together and dash the hope of them ever having a forever family? Or do they sacrifice the close bond between the siblings to give the girls a chance to be adopted?©2019 Maggie Hartley (P)2019 Orion Publishing Group

Great book
I do enjoy Maggie books, and So much love goes towards the children she fosters. Her hard work pays off and the children are always in a better place than when they arrive. Penelope narrates her story’s so well. Mind you I have had a few tears along the way. I think I’ve nearly got all of her books .

Brilliant
Very heartbreaking at times, so extremely sad siblings have to be separated . Although the outcome was best for all of them. It takes a very special person to foster xx

one of the saddest stories, with a silver lining
I've listened to several foster caring stories and this was one of the saddest, highlighting the struggle many children face at home, and when entering the care system. The job of the foster carer and support staff to meet their needs in a traumatic situation is highly under-recognised. A great story that I couldn't stop listening to, until the end.

A listen and a half
I absolutely love Maggie’s stories and the narrator is brilliant! This story was quite hard to listen too and for me was one of the most emotionally triggering stories from Maggie but as always a well written story and awesome narration.
