About this listen
‘I’m going to love my baby and give her lots of attention,’ Jade said. ‘I’ll show my mum she’s wrong.’
Jade, 17, is pregnant, homeless and alone when she’s brought to live with Cathy. Jade is desperate to keep her baby, but little more than a child herself, she struggles with the responsibilities her daughter brings.
Cathy is worried as soon as Jade arrives: she’s never looked after a pregnant teenager before, but none of the mother and baby carers is free, and – seventeen years old, seven months pregnant and homeless – Jade is in a desperate situation.
But Jade doesn’t want to listen or advice and although her daughter is born safely it isn’t long before Jade’s in trouble with the police.
Cathy knows that Jade loves her daughter with all her heart, but will she be able to get through to Jade in time to make her realise just how much she might lose?

Another great listen
Another great listen from Cathy Glass and her experience with Jade and Courtney. I read these so fast as I’m so invested in finding out the child’s outcome.

Couldn’t stop listening
Very sad story of teenage couple who are having a baby and far too young to be a parents. In this instance social services did not disappoint! Cathy’s love, patient and understanding is blessing. I cried often. I love Denica’s narration and he calming voice!

Fab author, fab narration.
I have listened to all but 1 of Cathy's books, and I hope she continues writing. Denica Fairman is a wonderful narrator. I could listen to her forever.

Frustrating
I know why I am not a foster carer because I would be too frustrated by teen's behaviour. Much as I sympathised with Jade about the possibility of losing her little girl, I was seriously angered at the alcohol abuse during pregnancy. I know Cathy was also annoyed and even angered , but to still address the girl as 'love' all the time was most irritating. Tyson was a wonderful dad and made me root for him in all ways. It was a surprising and great finish, but woah, how do they do it!
