About this listen

Read by the author.

Scott Morrison, Australia's 30th Prime Minister (2018-2022), offers a unique insider's account of a Christian who was open about his faith and operated at the top level of politics for more than a decade. During one of the toughest periods since the second world war, covering drought, wildfires, a global pandemic and recession, he chronicles God's faithfulness throughout, win or lose, public criticism or public success.

Less political memoir and more pastoral encouragement, Morrison is passionate about encouraging others to discover how they can access and see the many blessings of God in their own lives, no matter their circumstances, drawing on Jeremiah 29:11, that God's plans are for our good and not our harm, to give us a future and a hope. In each section Morrison asks the questions all of us are looking to find answers to:

  • Who am I? Discovering your purpose.
  • How should I live? Finding your pathway.
  • What should I hope for? Embracing your future.

Full of fascinating insights into the handling of some of the most significant global events and issues of our time Morrison's honest, vulnerable and reflective answers offers a unique lens to better understand your relationship with God and the blessing that can flow from such a relationship.

Alongside an account of high-level politics in a new media age where cancel culture, identity politics, and deep secularization is taking hold across so many western societies, creating a truly post Christian west, Morrison testifies to the faithful love and blessings of God.

Recent and Current Themes and Issues

Morrison gives his perspective on issues and themes that you lived through, but apart from your own experience, mainly saw through the lens of journalists. Makes you think.

Insightful and much appreciated

Thank you for narrating your own story. I especially enjoy the references to the scriptures. I'm going through work restructure challenges, I think I was meant to buy your book and listen and be reminded that I'm not alone. That God has a plan for me. It's a reminder that I need to talk to God more not less in these times of uncertainty. I take comfort and inspiration from your story and I look forward to the next publication.

An excellent read on politics and personal faith

An excellent book. It wasn't meant to be a 'tell it all' political memoir. There are enough ex-politicians going around re-writing history. It has nothing to do with 'church' versus 'state' either. A man of faith showing how his faith helped sustain him during political life, including the most relentless media war in history against him personally.
Every politician has made poor calls at times. Morrison admits to that.
But tell me of any other PM who has had to manage a country during a pandemic (Australia DID have an outstanding outcome); most would never stand up to China; and finally the truth about AUKUS - not 'Macronations'.
The great legacy of this book is a clear description of the Christian faith in a world that has rapidly become illiterate when it comes to Christianity - despite its mammoth role in shaping Western society.

Raw and honest.

Loved hearing the personal side of the story, both the wins and losses, behind the public figure.

A memoir of a personal relationship with God

Read by Scott, an insight into how his relationship with God has directed his adult life and gave him the confidence to survive politics and to lead our country including through the pandemic whilst being able to remain humble in his purpose for God. It is also directed to US readers converting measurements.

Transparent and honest

While Scott was Prime Minister we only got glimpses of the man he is. I really loved discovering him as a man who loves God. I knew he was a Christian when he was Prime Minister but the word Christian is used very loosely these days and I wasn’t sure if he was authentic. It was so heartening to discover that he really is authentic and it makes me admire him more.
